Introducing the 2023-2024 Fall/Winter Collection at Paris Fashion Week, Anrealage surprised the audience with its unique show. The Japanese brand made a statement on the runway as the models stood in front of a UV ray bar to reveal the true colours of the clothes.
The Anrealage fashion show held at the Théâtre de la Madeleine seemed to bring together two worlds: one visible and the other below the surface.
It is known that Tokyo-based designer Kunihiko Morinaga, the designer of the fashion house, mastered the combination of art and technology in his designs with the help of light-dependent, colour-changing photochromic properties about a decade ago. Since then, it has used similar technologies in several collections, including a Fendi collaboration in 2021.
Morinaga used this technology on faux fur, velvet, lace, knit, jacquard and satin textures for the first time at Paris Fashion Week. It was also its first use to bring out hues such as yellow, red, and purple.
The collection included voluminous ready-to-wear products such as dresses, caftans, jackets, skirts, trousers and coats with geometric patterns, polka dots, squares, lines and symbols scanned with UV light.
